PROMOTING PRIDE HONOR AND TRADITION IN THE FIRE SERVICE

Our Mission

The Metro Atlanta FOOLS chapter of the FOOLS International is dedicated to the mission of preserving the traditions and heritage of our profession. The Metro Atlanta FOOLS was founded in January 2009 with the desire to reach out to our brother/sister firefighters to ensure they have the training and resources needed to safely accomplish their mission. It is this desire that continues to drive our organization to expand and provide more to our brethren. While it is the responsibility of every firefighter to continually improve our knowledge and abilities through safe training, it is equally the responsibility of every firefighter to ensure his or her brothers and sisters are given the opportunity to do so in a safe and productive environment.

The Metro Atlanta FOOLS is working toward organizing training resources to further the knowledge and safe training of as many firefighters as possible. In the current economic environment of cutbacks and reduced budgets, state and local training courses and resources are being cut. We are committed to ensuring that these cutbacks do not mean a firefighter will pay the ultimate price. Through coordinating instructors committed to the same mission, with firefighters and departments in need, the Metro Atlanta FOOLS hope to provide the needed training at no cost. This can only be accomplished through the continuous support and growth of our organization. Members of the FOOLS affirm their commitment and conviction toward the same goals. By joining together, the Metro Atlanta FOOLS will attain our mission of taking care of our fellow firefighters in need.

The Metro Atlanta FOOLS organization provides more than just training to firefighters.   We also act as an organization for firefighters to network with one another and enjoy the brotherhood through various social functions such as family events, cookouts, and other social events. As a non-profit organization, some of these social events include fund raising activities for various charities such as St Baldrick’s foundation (www.stbaldricks.org ) which funds cancer research for children, and the Georgia Firefighter Burn Foundation (www.gffbf.org).   Actively participating in the communities we serve is a high priority for the Metro Atlanta FOOLS.

The American Fire Service has a history of duty, pride, and tradition.  Many firefighters before us shaped and formed the fire service into what it has become.  It is up to us to ensure that their blood, sweat, and tears were not in vein.  We must take it upon ourselves to ensure that no brother is left behind.

"Let no firefighter’s ghost say that their training let them down”  (Author Unknown).
